Sufi view

Here is a little something that was sent to me one evening, since August 20th.
I simply wanted to share this sentiment.

Dear Greg,
Here is the passage I read you last night. Hope it is a comfort.

"Prayers for the dead are on the same footing as gifts for the living. The
Angel goes in to the dead with a tray of light, bearing a cloth of light ,
and says, "this is a gift for you from your brother so-and-so, from your
relative so-and-so." And he delights in it JUST as a living person rejoices
in a gift .

al-Ghazzali

I have a feeling that this "cloth of light" is a bit like a film strip--and
that the receiver gets a little film of us blowing kisses their way. (I
made that up--but it sounds right to me.)

I will light a candle and say a prayer for dear Sean.

Love, Annie
